Walking Tours

Tours

We offer three different tours of downtown Portland, all designed with young people in mind! All tours include information about the history, architecture and art of the city. All of our tours align with 14 different Third Grade State Standards. To download a complete list click here.
We do these as 2-hour in-person walking tours or can come to your classroom and do a one hour virtual tour using slides.

Becoming a City

From the 25th floor of Big Pink, students see a panorama of our city with its beautiful river and bridges. We discover interesting architecture, art, the transit mall and the heart of downtown at Pioneer Square. Portland’s history is highlighted along with the innovators who transformed our city from a stump town to a thriving urban community.

Life in the City

A lively tour of some of Portland’s most important institutions such as City Hall and The Performing Arts Center. On this tour you will be introduced to Portlandia.

Early City

This tour takes you to Old Town to discover Portland’s history. Visit some of the earliest buildings to grace our city, and take a trip to Chinatown.
